Weekend Workshops
The National Constitution Center hosts Weekend Workshops for educators both at the Center in Philadelphia and across the country. These immersive three-day professional learning sessions are designed to deepen participants’ understanding of constitutional topics while fostering collaboration with peers nationwide. These workshops include engaging discussions with constitutional scholars, insights into the Center’s classroom-ready resources, and practical application sessions. Participants will leave with valuable knowledge and strategies to enhance their teaching of constitutional principles in diverse classroom settings.
During the weekend, participants can expect to:
- Engage with constitutional, legal, and historical scholars on historic and modern questions relating to constitutional topics
- Learn about the Center’s nonpartisan educational resources, such as the Interactive Constitution and the Constitution 101 curriculum
- Explore the Center’s educational framework, which includes historical foundations through storytelling, constitutional thinking skills, and civil dialogue and reflection
- Develop a sense of community and collaboration through quarterly follow-ups after the weekend concludes
Throughout the weekend, participants will work on constructing a classroom-ready resource that connects the content learned to immediate classroom practices. Through follow-up sessions and email check-ins, participants will have the chance to share experiences using the material, gain feedback from their fellow participants, and brainstorm potential adaptations for the future.
Applications will be available in Spring 2025.
