Monthly Professional Learning Sessions

The National Constitution Center offers free virtual professional learning sessions every month of the school year. Each session uses the Center’s nonpartisan educational framework, emphasizing storytelling, constitutional thinking skills, and civil dialogue to engage educators in constitutional questions, connections, and interpretations throughout American history.

In each session, a scholar provides rich historical and constitutional content on a topic of their expertise, ranging from principles of the American Revolution, the First Amendment, women and the Constitution, and more.

Then, educators from our teacher networks provide insight into resources that connect the content to the classroom and discuss pedagogically-focused ways to share the material with students. Highlighted resources come from the Center’s Constitution 101 curriculum, the Interactive Constitution, and the Founders’ Library.

These free, 90-minute professional development sessions are hosted on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. ET through Zoom. Participating teachers receive a letter of attendance after each session.
